ICE vs NXT - what's everyone's thoughts

Well, I'm running low on Zaino, and am considering just trying a different product. I love the Zaino and know nothing will touch it as far as durability... but I enjoy an occasional waxing so don't mind that aspect. I'm debating whether I should try the NXT or ICE. What do you guys think?

I know... just stick w/ Z2.

The ICE is nice, for a touch up. Quick and easy final detail at the show. But it won't last either. NXT by far better. Both simple to use. Oh and the ICE is not a protectorant either, simply a polish.

nxt 2.0 is getting good reviews. People like it considerably more than the original nxt. I like the original nxt and look forward to getting some 2.0 when the car comes out of hybernation

I tried both last year. I got both for free, so I have no bias on price or anything, but I preferred the NXT for the way it came off and how long it lasted. In the past I used Meguiar's Cleaner Wax and loved it, so I'm not too surprised NXT is similarly good. If I put a coat on the chin spoiler it helps with getting bugs off. I use the wax and then I drive the car and use the NXT Speed Detailer to clean the bugs off. I rewax the car every 2 weeks. In between the speed detailer does a good job to take off the bugs and leave the wax.

I tried ICE and I didn't like it. Wears out really fast after a couple of washes. That's why I swear by NXT.

You are right about Zaino being the best. Since you are looking at NXT and Ice, I would go with NXT. ICE doesn't last very long (makes you wonder if that is why they called it ICE).

Ice. Great on plastic and can apply in direct sunlight, but doesn't last more than a couple of weeks. It's also difficult to remove unless you use microfiber and the Ice quick detailer.

I've been contemplating switching to Meg's NXT or a real upscale wax; not quite sure which one though.

Don't waste your time looking at Turtle Wax stuff. If it is between those 2, go with NXT 2.0 paste or liquid. NXT wax is quality stuff.

Depends on what you are looking for. NXT is a synthetic sealant, so it isn't going to give the depth and warmth of a good carnauba wax. However, it is still a great product. If you want something easy to find that looks great, try the Meg's #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. Very deep, wet look on dark paints.

Duragloss products have been favorably compared to Zaino. I currently am topping w/ DG 111 or 105, looks great and long lasting:

Their Aqua Wax is a great booster for theirs or any other sealant:

Available at Carquest, NAPA and others.

When I want that "pop" I top w/ Collinite carnuba.

I use NXT. I haven't used ICE so I can't give you an unbiased comparison. Honestly, why not try them both and see which one you like better. It's your preference that matters in the end.

Happy waxing!!

Yup. I'm looking for that dark glow. I thought that NXT would give me that. Mother's looked good, but didn't have that warmth. Ice has a clean wet look, but had no warmth and faded in 3 weeks. I'll pickup the Hi-tech and try it.

I can't find the NXT 2.0 anywhere. I have looked at China-Mart, Advance Auto Parts, and O'Reilly's and nobody has it yet. I guess I'll keep looking. I have enough NXT to last one more wax job, which will probably be in the next 2 weeks. Getting worried.....
