I cant do it. I do not have good enough equipment. Plus I would burn the paint with my luck.

I've thought about getting proper equipment but having never done it before I wasn't about to practice on a black Mustang. It'll be elbow grease for now, but perhaps just before Spring I'll let a pro give it a shot.

i use the porter cable for polish and paint correction but usually do the wax application by hand. The machine irritates the tendonitis in my elbow.

I love my orbital. Nearly impossible to screw anything up, and makes a two day job a one day job.

I have been using my Porter Cable for a decade without an issue.

I have an orbital also and for some reason I rarely ever use it. Probably because I never clean the pads after I use it. When I have used it I was pretty happy with the results and I should use it more often. I have seen the high speed non orbital buffers do damage. Many times right at the dealership. Don't let them wash the car let alone try to buff it.

I never tried using a machine, I've always done it by hand.

If you have a pad cleaning set-up it's too easy. If not then it's a little bit of a pain to clean them the old fashioned way but if you have enough pads you don't lose much time waiting for pads to dry.

Ditto! (Except used it for about 15 years.) I use foam pads for application and a microfiber bonnet for wax removal. Then I go over it by hand with a quick detailer spray and microfiber cloth.

I finally had to replace the factory power cord with a 25' extension cord though. Made everything a lot easier. I should've done that years ago.

Just for paint correction, wax/sealant by hand

Meguiar's Dual Action Polisher is very easy on the clearcoat.

I always wax by hand. You have better control of where the wax gets applied and if you keep the paint clean, wax goes on and removes very easily.
