HELP!!!
HELP!!!
WTF is this ***** on my driver's side rear rim?
I clean my car religiously and it wasn't there yesterday!

I've tried normal car wash soap, dishwashing soap (I know.. it's bad), rim/tire cleaner, bug/tar remover, paint cleaner, googone, and nothing will removed it!
Thanks,
~j

First, lets start with the basics and go from there. Are your rims clearcoated or polished aluminum. There is a big difference between the 2 and should not be cleaned the same way.
If they are clearcoat, sounds like you may have gotten something on there (perhaps from cleaning) that has etched the clearcoat. Use a polish as you would on the paint to clean them up.
If they are polished aluminum (not clearcoat protected), again you may have used a product that is just tarnishing the surface. Use a metal cleaner specifically made for aluminum.
Again, make sure you know if your rims are clearcoated or not. Using an aluminum polish on clearcoat will damage it. Using a clearcoat polish on untreated aluminum will make a mess as well.

Hm, looks familiar.....you may think this is nuts but on another one of my mustangs I had a cat that would spray the same dang tire over and over. I never did get all of it completely off. I went crazy trying to figure out what it was until one day I saw him do it
They are the OEM GT500 rims so I'm gonna say CC.
*She's garage kept unless I'm at work, then she's right outside my window from 8am-5pm if that makes a difference.

I edited my comments so take a look at them above. If they are CC, then use a fine polish as you would on the rest of the car. That should remove it. You just have to watch what you use as some things can damage clearcoat such as goo-gone if it is left on and not completely washed off.
I have to agree, unless you drove through something that may have damaged the clear coat.
BTW, if you want a backup set...

Factory rims like that are clearcoated, and it looks like whatever got on there attacked the clearcoat.
Try some car polish or plastic polish to try to remove the discoloring, though it looks like some of your clear is gone. Polish as best as you can and protect with a spray wax like Mothers FX.
I've heard of animal urine affecting wheels, but it could also be a wheel cleaner. Rinse wheel cleaners thoroughly if you use them... drips can appear and set on the surface and do damage like this. I try to rinse with the hose and also hit the area with sudsy water before rinsing again.
By the way, it looks like you've got an awful lot of weights on that wheel.

Thanks guys! The polish and alot of elbow greese got the job done. There's just alittle bit of a haze where the marks use to be. You can't really see them unless you catch it at just the right light.
I thought the same thing when I bought them, but they have no vibration issues..
I bought them from a guy outside of Baltimore who took them off his 2008 GT500 for a set of Bogarts (I believe). They only had 90 ish miles on them and the wheels had never been broken down so it's a factory balance.
