guide to exterior car
#1
Since there are so many steps for exterior care, is there anyone out there that can provide a step-by-step guide to making your exterior look as sexy as possible? For each step can you provide a list of products (high, medium and low price points) that do the best work.
I think that'd be a pretty handy sticky for this section.

I have the time, it's not spring time yet

I've heard that there are a number of products on the market "Clear Coat" that assist in reducing car maintenance or routine washings. And add additional value by protecting the paint. I beleieve I even saw a guy put out a cigarette on a hood once with no apparent damage. But not sure I remeber what product that was. Anyways I've never had occasion to think about this type of thing as I never had a car worthy of paying that much attention to other than the bi Weekly winter washes to get the salt off the vehicle.
With the Planned purchase of the GT 500 I'd like to do it right, Any ideas what finnishs one should consider when bringing the car home... Are there products that bring execeptional prtoection to the vehicle.
I have made arrangements with a local Body shop that have won a number of Awards for their paint schemeas on performance vehicles. And I thought they would be a great place to start. They simply advised me to stay away from the fancy stuff and to wash and wax on a regular bassis. Thoughts?
If color matter I plan on going Vista Blue with WHite stripe, and currently sit at number two with deposit at Local Ford Dealer.
Cheers, and thanks for taking the time!

One thing to avoid throughout the summer, and that is washing in direct sun in the heat of the day. Wash her real early or real late, and out of direct sunlight. Soap, water and drying in direct sunlight and heat is mighty harsh on your clearcoat and paint.
So if it's hot and sunny, wait until near sunset, or get up real early the next day to clean her up.
