Well I got my first door ding today. Totally sucks. So I went to Dent Dr. to see what they had to say.

They told me they can take the dent out but it depends whether the sheetmetal behind the dent is doubled or not. If it is double sided sheetmeta they cannot.

I attached a picture to show you guys where the dent is. Sorry for the lame and crude photo but it gets the point across.

The circle area is where the ding is. Does anybody know if the sheetmetal in this area is single sided? I could take the interior panel out to check myself but thought maybe someone already knows before I start tearing into the car.

I am guessing that is single ply metal just based on the location.

I moved this to the car care section, I am sure that you will get more people looking at your topic here.

I did get the Ding King repair kit at my local Schucks and did a partial repair on our 1998 Explorer. It did get about 1/2 of the dent out. You might try that as the $15 experiment.

I had Dent Doctor cure my problem after encountering a hail storm (in my 03 Dodge Ram 4X4). I highly recommend Dent DR. I would give him a chance!
