Has anyone ever heard of or used this product - or something similar?
Diamon-Fusion is a vapor treatment designed to bond with the silica in glass to create a smoother heavily water repellent surface.
The vendor suggests it for everything from ceramic tile to automobile glass. Once it's in place, water spotting should reduce significantly - water just rolls off - and any spots should be easily removed.
I've been quoted $175.00 to do all the Windows on my new 05. If cared for properly, it's a one-time application with a lifetime guarantee.
What does anyone think? Would you try this on your new car?

Don't know anything about it Ken. Seems like some kind of sealant.
I'm not a glass guy, but yeah it's hard work keeping glass clean.
I would wait and see if any here have info. on this stuff!
Happy Trails!!!

Well, I haven't uncovered much additional infomation yet. The parent company is http://www.diamonfusion.com/
The local lisencee here in Hawaii has been in business since '99, and I haven't yet found any evidence of complaints.
Has anyone else tried this treatment or even heard anything about it - good or bad?
Thanks,
Ken

Never heard of it either. Do they have any kind of customer referral where you can ask former customers about it? That's the only thing I can think of.

Treadhead, yeah. I was planning on asking for referrals next.
ex-Galaxie500, what does rain-x cost, and how often does it have to be applied? I think the value prop here, if true, is that this is a one time treatment.

Rain-x doesn't cost more than a few bucks for a bottle. And it lasts a good while, at times I go about 3-4 weeks without having to reapply it. I understand the wanting permenant treatment in exchange for time but it only takes 5 minutes at most to apply rain-x. They even sell washer fluid that is suppose to apply it every time you use your jets. You might want to go checkout some of their products at their website. It does exactly what it's supposed to. There's also a thread about it in the car care forum. I would just hate to see you spend that much money, if it can be solved this way. At least try it before you make a desicion- you may be glad you did
