I like meguires easy to get, easy to use with pretty good results. I have used some Croftgate stuff also with very good results, but thats mail order stuff.

While we're talking about detailing, how and what do you use to wash the cloth top? Is there some sort of scotchguard type treatment to buy for them to repel dirt and water?

As for generic materials Meguiar's products have worked well for me including the detailing spray for inbetween washes. Buy a bunch of the microfiber towels they are good for everything.

And for smudges, etc i use this

I really love the soft microfiber towels, they are softer then the towels I have at my house!

"Best" is a really subjective term. Look at the replies so far and you'll see that.

How intricate do you want to get Nikki? Do you just want to keep it clean, or are you looking for something to really go that extra mile to make the car look amazing? How familiar are you with good washing/waxing practices?

If you're looking for basic stuff, like soap and OTS waxes, I'd suggest sticking to Meguiar's Gold Class. If you're looking to go above and beyond that, products like Klasse All-In-One, Blackfire Wet Diamond, or Collonite 845 might be more to your liking.

I've never used Zaino, but from discussions with other detailers, it really seems to be one of those products that you follow the instructions and use the kit as a whole to get good results. You can find other products that mix and match to your liking for less, but it'll take some work.

At the very least, invest in some Grit Guards for your buckets, get yourself some nice microfiber towels and a few waffle weave towels for drying. Get a microfiber or lambswool wash mitt, and some brushes for the wheels. On the inside, avoid using Armor-All on the dash and seats, and look at products like 303 Protectant or 1Z Cockpit Premium.

Last, spend some time reading/researching products on a site like Autopia, where it's more tailored to detailing. You won't find one end-all answer, but you can learn some valuable tips. My last bit of advice over there is read, search, then post. A lot of the info is already there if you take some time to look around.

The interior I clean or at least go over every couple days if not my black dash is dusty but the exterior I'd like to be able to have it waxed and then a's needed just rinse and wipe if possible. One of my main problems is my rims they are always a mess an take alot of work to clean them any suggestions on products that help cut down on maintenance on the rims

For the exterior, I've always had good luck with a clay bar, and Clearkote wax products. I usually will wash, dry, clay, wash, use Clearkote's Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze, then use their Moose wax for the top coat. It takes awhile to apply everything and do all those steps, but it really does a great job. For the rims, I scrub them, and will apply Michelin brake dust prohibitor, then use Black Magic Titanium Matte tire finish spray. It gives the tires a 'new' look, as opposed to a 'shiny' look.

For the interior, I use Armor All Natural Finish detailer for pretty much everything, except the seats, carpet, and windows. For the leather, I use Armor All Leather Care gel, and for the windows, always Stoner's Invisible Glass spray.

I've never polished aluminum rims, since I've never had an older set, but my father-in-law has always had good luck with the Mother's Mag Polish and their's Power Ball. Basically, put the Power Ball on your drill, and use it to apply the Mag Polish.

I'd recommend P21S wheel cleaner. Also, an assortment of brushes makes wheel cleaning a breeze. My two go-to ones are the Swissvax wheel brush, and the Daytona wheel brush. You can get 90% of the wheel clean with those. They work for all wheels as well.

Well idk if many of yall have tried croftgates products. I find they work really well, not to mention they really cut down on time. It seems to produce a brilliant shine, great protection for my paint, and my wheels and tires are a breeze to clean. Im down to wipin emmdown once a week instead of everyday! Shout out to any croftgate users on here!

Sorry guys im kindof addicted to this stuff now

So far your detailing advice has been pretty vague. You definitely want to read up on things. Check out Autopia.org and do some research, and you'll be surprised how much there is to understand when detailing.

Ice for the interior, gives you that factory look instead of the greasy shiny look that other products give you

I've been detailing all my cars myself for over 10 years using a specific 6 step process. When my 2004 went in for work due to a keying at the highest rated body shop in Northern California the owner called me to ask me what process I used he was so blown away by how the car looked after 75,000 miles. Needless to say...I know what I'm talking about. I'll be more specific when I'm on my desktop.....in the meantime try a little more courtesy and a little less attitude; I've been on this forum for 6 years and haven't had to deal with it before and I'm not about to now
