clay bars for new cars, or only used?

 I was wondering, should I clay bar my mustang when it comes in, or are clay bars more for cars that have been around a while? Being a brand new car, would the mustang really have that many contaminants on the paint? Thanks.

:bang: You'd be suprised how much "rail dust" and other crap is on a NEW car. I clay'd after the car was only 3 weeks old and made a HUGE difference. I say Clay early and you know where you are.
Here's a quick test. Wash and dry the car. Put a cheap sandwich bag over your hand and lightly rub the surface of your car. If it's smooth you're O.K; if it drags and feels rough ... clay. Then use your favorite product to protect. I prefer Zaino system; but Meguiar's is good, less expensive and readily available.

Mine was less than 45 days old and I was totally amazed at the amount of stuff the clay bar removed. And boy was it worth it.

Used Mothers bar as it was all they had. It will be a once a year event for sure...
