Black Plastic/Trim Comparison Test-image-325347999.jpg Thought you guys would like this test in the latest Consumer Reports. A bit surprising the "as seen on TV" one is the best! Saw the Wipe New product at my local Dollar General for $20 so it ain't cheap but if it lasts, maybe it's worth it.

FYI. That wipe new stuff is basically this.

I use it on my Jeep Wrangler fenders. I also used it on my taillight panel on my mustang.

Interesting - how do you know that? And do you have to do anything to that product before applying?

Put on rubber gloves and wipe on with a clean cloth. Just like in commercial. It takes several minutes to dry.

But how do you know it's the exact same product?

I'm no chemist. I got the info from guys on jeep forums. Go buy a can of it for $10 and try a small area. It definitely works and lasts.

Turtle wax trim restorer can be picked up for 8 bucks and works great. Not 35 bucks!

I've had a bottle for over a year and it works awesome. God forbid you have to reapply it every 10 weeks. Lol

I love the commentary of "But we only got x amount for y dollars."

If it WORKS... then it's not about the price, Consumer Reports.

Cheaper <> Better. The Penetrol thing notwithstanding.

Except the comment from Getportfolio above shows perfectly that it IS about price often. He'd clearly rather buy the Turtle Wax product for cheaper and reapply more often than buy the one that lasts the longest. Personally, I hate cleaning/detailing that plastic so I'll pay more.

Yes! 10 weeks is a long time. Mine would last six months.
Detailing is work but no different than regular waxing and detail. I find that harder on my body.

I only have the rear valance and skirts to deal with in this case.
