Best way to get rid of scuff/scratches on paint?

Hello. My ride unfortunately was scratched with the garage door this past weekend. I got most of the white paint from the door off but there's still some scuffs I can see that's driving me nuts. Any suggestions on the best way to get rid of this? Should I rent a buffer or similar? THX

Fo, I feel your pain. My big old dumb a$$ didn't back the Wifeys Stang far enough into the garage, and the door hit the top of the front bumper. She wasn't very happy with me to say the least. I used a good polish/wax that got most of the smaller scratches out, but finally had to take it to the body shop to paint the whole bumper. I hope your isn't that bad. When it comes to anything more than a polish/wax I'm of no help, sorry. Good luck.

This

Will take care of minor scratches/scuffs. Follow the instructions and thoroughly clean you pads and towels between applications.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I can't drop that kind of $ right now. I'm looking for something more affordable. The scuffs aren't THAT bad I don't think. I'll try and take a pic later. Sounds like I might be going for the the ultimate compound. What do you recommend I buff with this? Just a hand buff would do?

Any other affordable at home options, other than going to a body shop and getting raped?

You could try some touch up paint and some buffing. Some products such as Dr Colorchip seem to work really well.

Here is an example of some extreme chips fixed with Dr Colorchip....
