The 2005 has a rather large flat dash and I don't want to use armor all b/c it looks good at first but after a few days armor all seems to actually cause the dash to collect more lint and dust. I was thinking of using Meguiars vinyl and rubber cleaner for the dash. Any suggestions? I also want something that protects from UV.

 

B) Pledge and buff with an old t-shirt. Also get a dash cover.

 

Ohh, I just picked up the meguiars cleaner. I have been looking for it but could never find it.

I used it the other day on everything inside (except the leather of course). It works great. I even did around the radio and it looks nice.

 

When my dash is shined, it makes a huge glare on my windshield!! So, I just shine the inside, then when Im done, I flip my rag and wipe the dash.

 

I bought some of their products the other day, I never knew existed. Meguires"Quik Clay" detailing system, [clay bar included], "Endurance" Gold Class Tire Protectant, and a product called "ScratchX", fine scratch and swirl remover [in a tube]. Hope this stuff is as good as their wax!

 

I tried the Meguiars rubber and vinyl cleaner on the dash this weekend. Looks good so far. The main thing is that you need to get everything b/c if you miss some spots you can definatly see it. I will let you know as it goes how the product works.

 

only thing about the meguirs dash stuff is that it stinks! smell gives me a headache.

 

The clay bar is great. This site informed me about it. I used it on mine and it picked up a lot. I used it on my wife's 02 Cavalier for the first time. WOW, I went thru some clay on that one.

That is very true. I missed a spot at a corner, and it was dull and really stood out. So now I make sure I go over everything twice.

 

I too picked up the vinyl/rubber cleaner for the dash. Wednesday my pony gets it's first top down wash, wax, and conditioning .

 

Anything would be good for the dash that doesn't leave in shiny. Don't use Armor All.

You want a flat/non-reflective surface so it doesn't show up on the windshield.

 

Armor all is no good. It attracts dust to your dash and over years of use can dry out the vinyl causing it to crack.

Provides UV protection against fading and leaves a soft gloss... and is water-based which is important!

 

When I cleaned the one in my dad's 93 I put some NXT Gen Tech Wax on it and it looks pretty good. Might look better if it had more than one coat on it. If I dont get some Ziano Ill put some more on it and relay the results.

 

303 protectant is a wonderful product (from a fellow autopian)

Also, Meguiars new Quick Interior detailing is wonderful.

 

Meguires Premium Dash wipes are very good. That's what I use

 

Dan-You oughta try the quick detailer. With a Supreme Shine microfiber it really looks great. You can spray it directly onto the Shaker head unit and it cleans all the crevices without damaging the electronics.

 

Well, I guess I'm part of the minority here. I put two coats of Meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl & Tire Protectant, then top it off with one Armor All Protectant Wipe. As soon as I use up the Meguiar's and Armor All, I'll switch to Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer.

 

Yeah the Quick Detailer is awesome stuff. The leather cleaner is just as good, especially on older cars!

 

So the quick detailer is the winner here. Ill go buy some in the next few days. Car is a week old tomorrow, not really dirty inside yet.

Went to the strore to look for the Meguires stuff, didnt see it. So I picked up the 303 whicch they had.

And I love it! This cars got so much stuff that needs to be wiped down with it. Car is less than a week old, so you would think it looks good still. Well after using this stuff it looked 100x's better!

Works great on the flat black stuff, like the shaker500 etc... and trim around it. Where alot of stuff would just streak.

Looks like armorall, but way better. No sticky slimy feel, or the nasty armorall smell.

Gives it just the right deep shine/luster It needed. Supposedly repels dust, we shall see after a week or 2.
