Any good way to clean windshield?
As the title says, anyone got a good way to clean the windshield, and for that matter the rear windshield? I can't figure out a good way to clean either one.
I use microfibers with Stoner's glass cleaner, which works pretty good as long as you aren't directly under the sun. The best way I have found yet is just drying the windows with microfibers after you wash the car.

+1 for Stoner's Invisible Glass cleaner and a microfiber towel. If in a pinch and using a paper towel, make sure you keep flipping your paper to a clean section each time you clean. Two to three cleanings may be required to get it perfect. The Invisible Glass is the best glass cleaner I have ever used, hands down. It comes in a can or spray bottle and can be ordered through their website.
The Stoner's Trim Shine is fantastic for plastic trim and tires. It will wash off after a getting wet a few times. It will really dress up the plastic and rubber in your engine bay after you have cleaned it.

Stoner's works gret on the inside to get rid of that strange "fog".
I know some guys swear by using Stoner's with newspaper.

Whoaaaaa, dont use Windex! Use something designed for cars. I use Stoner's, and it does work good. Im trying to come up with a tool that will make it easier to clean the inside of the front windshield.
alright spray stoners on a towel and use that to wash the inside then use a micro fiber towel to dry. No over spray that way....... people have been using windex for many many years to clean auto glass.

that's what Im doing. I say dont use windex, because it can mess up auto glass, especially tint. A friend of mine did that for months, and her tint turned purple.
I have not tried Stoners, but it is mentioned here a lot. I think I'll give it a go. The horizontal/veritcal is great advice, I've been using that trick for years and it helps fix a streak really quick! I use a damp microfiber followed with a dry one on interior glass and after washing the car I use rainx on the exterior glass. To remove the rainx I use a damp cloth followed with a dry microfiber. When I'm finished, the glass looks like it isn't there. I keep a microfiber in the car for quick touch ups.
Up and down outside, side to side inside. When you are finished there are usually a few streaks here and there. Sometimes it is hard to tell what side of the glass a streak is on. If you use one motion on one side, and one on the other, it's easy to tell what side needs attention due to the direction of the streak. You can't really see all streaks during the day, most are noticed at night, with outside light from another car or a street light, so I keep a cloth handy to touch up the glass. I have this thing about clean windows.
Pretty much any good glass cleaner will do the job, just be sure to be out of the sun, repeat wiping process at least two or three times for a full affect and then use some rain x to protect it from getting dirty quicker or getting water spots. lastly it is best to use microfiber to lightly buff out streaks and smudges.

Stoners and NXT Glass Cleaner are both very highly rated. Stoners does come in an aerosol can which I believe is easier to use.
