Currently I am in the US and own a 05 Mustang GT.

However, in a few months I will be moving back to Athens, Greece. So my question is if anyone knows if I will be able to order one in Greece and how much is the V6 and GT going for if available.

Thanks.

as with anywhere in Europe, you will have to buy off a specialist importer or bring it in yourself. I know in Germany, a GT Vert is costing 40k euro.

you are much better taking yours to Greece with you, you don't have to pay inport duties or VAT then, which will save you about 8k euro. I hope this helps. If necc, I can give you more detail of how to get the car certified when you get to greece (can all be found on the EU website)

I couldn't find the exact link, but I found this. I was right, if you are moving to Greece with a work permit (or are a Greek national), you can bring a car in without paying duties (you cannot sell it within 1 year, then a sliding scale if you sell within 5 years). Advice is to speak to your nearest Greek consulate before you move over there.

Importation of Vehicles and Household Effects for Residence:
Persons who are taking up legal residence in Greece ("repatriating") may be allowed to import their vehicle and household effects with payment of Customs duty. This special provision of Greed law can apply to someone only if he/she is granted a residence permit before arriving in Greece. In general, such permit is granted only to those who are of Greek descent, are married to Greed citizens, or are also being granted work permits. (A Greek citizen may also be allowed to use this provision of law if he/she is moving back to Greece after having been legally residing outside of Greece.) In any case, the person wishing to impost the items must contact the nearest Greek consulate in his/her country of residence, providing a list of all the items and proof of foreign residence; the Greek Consulate will provide the certificate required for duty-free impost.
A vehicle imported under this provision must have been owned by the person settling in Greece for at least six months immediately prior to his/her move to Greece. New vehicles are subject to VAT. All vehicles are subject to the normal fees for license plates (circulation fees).

A vehicle brought into Greece duty-free cannot be sold or transferred for one year after import. A percentage oft he Customs duty must be paid by the importer of the vehicle if it is sold within five years; after that time it can be sold duty-free. The seller must appear in person at the Customs Office to transfer ownership.

Household effects imported under this provision are for the personal use of the importer only and cannot be sold or otherwise transferred for one year.

Sorry for dredging up old threads but my question is somewhat similar. However, I've already moved to Greece (Thessaloniki to be exact) and was thinking of purchasing a slightly used Mustang from Germany. I was curious to see if anyone knows anything about taxes and fees incurred during import from an EU member country to Greece (another EU country but they don't like following all the rules here.) Thanks if anyone answers.

I was thinking of something like this, this, this, or this.

BTW, were you able to bring your car over, TheLegend?

Bill, there will be NO customs or duty fees if they have already been paid in Germany. The only cost will be getting the car registered.

No EU country can "double tax" on goods, it is against the rules of the "Freedom of movement of goods and services" act.

Good luck!
