Winterizing the mustang

Two years ago, I was away for the winter, so I covered it and just had my family start it up and drive it around once a week. That's all. Had no problems with the car. I did have to change the battery after the winter, but it was 4 1/2 years old at that point.

IMO Oil change, good wash and wax, if you can a battery maintainer on it with out of corse elec connections or plugs getting snow in them, STA-Bil in the fuel tank with a full tank. If you can get a battery maintainer on it don't strat it untilll your going to drive it for hallf hour or so to fully bring up to operating temp and burn the moisture out of the engine, starting the car for ten min or so and not driving to get to full temp just keeps moisture building up in the engine and makes it worse. One other thing I have tried but in doors had been a plastic bag on the exhaust tips to help with moisture. Also make sure cover is secure so if windy does not beat the paint up. Just some of the things I do hope can help in some way for ya

Winterizing? Put on the snow tires, throw the snow brush/ice scraper in the car. Extra stuff to go in the trunk includes a 40 lb. bag of kitty litter, blanket, extra warm hat and gloves.
