I'll really never know. The speedometer in my '06 GT only goes to 140 and my ROUSHcharger was pulling hard past that number. Got pulled over by a Brevard County sheriff doing 122. He was a football fan and an alumni so he let me go with a warning. Good thing he clocked me while I was slowing down.

125 mph in my 06 Mustang V6 with a Brenspeed SCT Excalibrator 87 tune on I-84 westbound just east of Pendleton Oregon, and 135 mph on my 75 Z1 900 Kawasaki, but that was long ago and far away.

Man jailed after filming himself driving 140 mph
– Sun Feb 13, 1:13 am ET
PORTLAND, Oregon (Reuters) – A man who filmed the speedometer of his car while driving more than 140 miles per hour so he could post it on YouTube, ended up in jail on Saturday and the video confiscated, police said.
Stanislav Vadimovich Bakanov was pulled over by police on Oregon Interstate 5 after he was clocked driving his black 2005 BMW at 118 mph. He filmed Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Postlewait as he approached the car.
When Postlewait asked why he was videotaping, Bakanov said he was filming his speedometer, and his arrest, to post on Youtube. The video later revealed that Bakanov had attained speeds in excess of 140 mph.
He was arrested and confined in Marion County jail Saturday night, charged with reckless driving and speeding. It was his third speeding incident in the past year. The video was confiscated and will be used as evidence against him.
Marion County Police spokesman Don Thompson said winds were gusting at up to 50 mph during the day.
"There were tree branches down on the freeway. To be driving at these speeds today was just plain crazy," he said.

Will announce accurate top speed soon...
I've had two bikes up to an indicated 150, a Yamaha FJ1200 and a Kawasaki ZRX1200. Easy to do on a vehicle that accelerates so quickly.
I have had my 2011 GT Automatic up to 140 on the straightaway of a local back road, it did it easily and I thhink there's a lot more left, the guys at AM said the BAMA tunes move the speed limiter up to where the car will never run, like 250 mph.
My wife was driving the Mustang the other day and after looking around for the cops, I egged her on by telling her she drove like a *****. She tromped on it and was doing 120 or so -- immediately! She cackled, slowed to 80, then did it again, this time getting up to 130. It's addictive. I'm lucky that the ole lady understands and even shares my needs.
On a related note, I just recieved via UPS a GTech Pro Model SS, a windshield-mounted GPS-driven accelerometer that accurately measures speed and distance. It also has a built-in timer, so you can accurately measure 0-60, 1/8 and 1/4 mile ETs and TS, 60-0 braking distances, as well as rolling acceleration like 60 to 80 as well as top speed. It is my understanding that this is the way auto magazines get tehir test times. If you enter the test car's curb weight the DTech will give you hp and tq figures, but bear in mind that they will read less than a dynomometer because of the added power losses due to wind resistance. It also measures g-forces generated while cornering. This neat little toy costs $200 and is made by Tesla, the guys that make that cool little electric sports car. Check it out at GTechpro.com.
I stuck it in the windshield a couple of hours ago, but school was letting out and the back roads were festooned with buses. Stay tuned.
