What exactly do you do with a V8 Mustang ?

With 412hp there are many different ways of using this power like Burnouts , donuts, popping the clutch etc.. and everyone has told me if you end up doing these things... then something will end up breaking. I thought these cars were built to be rough on them. it's not like I got a prius. If your just supposed to drive the car normally and not do those things...then what is the point of having 400+ horsepower to the rear-wheels?

You'd have to pretty well try to break it if you leave it stock. If you start heavy modding it and run it hard, yeah, you'll break something.

and I'm really glad you didnt buy a prius!

Well lets see.. my v8 does the following that I have yet to see a v6 do. Or at least do well..

Runs over 140mph

Sounds sexy

Rips through donuts in 3rd gear while feathering the throttle.

Attracts chicks

Makes guys jealous

And the negative... attracts cops...

Truth! Apparently mine has been called in to the local county PD for going in excess of 100mph down the freeway? The car must be a new "KITT" and is capable of driving itself because I would never do something like that.

I get compliments on the way my car looks, handles, and SOUNDS! I even had a girl yell across the street; "I love you car"! The point is that there is a pretty fair amount of people who LOVE American Muscle. The younger generation is really into imports and then you have people who drive BMW and Mercedes. All are great cars and have their drawbacks and advantages over the other. I personally have had alignment issues with my 07 S197 GT but that's because the guy who had it before me dropped lowering springs into the car and DIDN'T do anything else besides tint and throwing 20's on it.

I have dumped about $3,000 into LCA's, UCA, Panhard, C&C Plates, and an anti-roll kit. My car isn't at the exact point that I want it to be BUT it is on it's way. Personally I think a lot of warranties are completely useless and BOGUS. I think this especially after reading some of the horror stories people are posting on here having to deal with stealerships completing warranty work on brand new Mustangs? Who does that!?! Oh yeah, a 100% commission employee who's job relies on how many cars they can get in and out of an engine bay as opposed to quality service.

I also received my very first reckless driving ticket for what I felt was very trivial AND stupid but to me that's the cost of doing business when I'm doing something stupid. The only drawback I look at is if I'm dropping a ton of cash on a brand new Mustang, why in the heck would I not get a custom tune dropped in to take advantage of some HP that's in there just begging to be let out? This is another reason why I will be waiting for a little while until the 5.0's go down in pricing on the used market. I will never purchase a vehicle brand new, it loses value too quickly and when working with a stealership, it's all about how much money they can milk out of you...

Sorry for the rant but I believe there are benefits and drawbacks to everything. Purchasing a brand new car just isn't my forte but if you are willing to take the plunge, good luck on payments and warranty work. You aren't going to be able to start heavily moding the car until you get past the warranty expiration.

My wallet doesn't like lack of gas mileage or paying for mods.. The Mustang loves both and keeps asking for more and more.. It just.. won't.. stop.. And it keeps me awake at night..

I love everything about the car. The look, the power, the way you can customize it to your taste. I love rounding a corner and seeing the look on a pedestrians face, or reading the lips as they say "D**N". Or passing another vehicle on the interstate and seeing the heads turn, or better yet, a thumbs up. Even got one from a Vette owner! I try not to romanticize it too much but owning a Mustang is owning a piece of automotive history. Some of the coolest and baddest cars have been Mustangs. The same goes for any muscle or high performance car, not just Mustangs. So to answer your question, I drive my Mustang, in every sense of the word. I have done a couple of burnouts, no donuts yet. But when I have an opportunity and the conditions are right (safely) I let the horses run and have a little fun in it!

We can reenact a movie; "Riding In Mustangs With Boys"?

Don't fear the 8 cylinders of awesomeness, you too will soon get to drive a car with crazy HP and a v8 under the hood. I'm still jelly of you getting the opportunity to do that btw.

What's funny is I was driving "normally" when my water pump failed. And the only thing that breaks when I'm having fun with it is my bank account.

My 2011 V6, 305 hp will do all that and for about 7 grand less. My 11 v6 will do 140 mph. I got rid of the speed governor limit with my bama tune. The chicks dig the 11 stang even the sixer. Plus I get 5 to 6 mpg more on highway than the 2010 V8. Poke

Yeah, might want to reconsider testing that 140 claim until you make some modifications.
