Video cameras?

Hello everybody,
I'm from Detroit, but I've been living in Japan for the past 9 years.
I drive a 2011 GT and have been thinking about getting a video camera to record some track events and crazy roads around here.

The Hero 2 just went on sale here and looks nice, but I have an iPhone 4 that shoots HD video just waiting to be used. I also have a Canon 7D that takes beautiful video, but it may be too heavy to mount in my Mustang.

I was just wondering... What does everybody use?

Are there good mounting solutions for iPhones or DSLRs?
Is the Hero 2 really worth it?

Thanks in advance!!!

I picked up a Hero earlier this year which I use for all my road race events. Its really good and very easy to use.

Pretty cool... That's in the back window?
The Hero doesn't have a zoom, right?
Also, the rumbling noise... I think your windows are open so I imagine it's wind noise, right? Did you have the wind noise reduction setting enabled?

I use this:

http://contour.com/products/contour-roam

Affordable, full HD, super simple operation and you can get a boatload of handy mounting devices for it. Image quality is amazing.

Never even heard of the Contour. Thanks for the info! I'll check it out!
