Us Women and our "Girly" Cars....
thought I would start a thread for the women on the sit to post their cars and comment...
a lil background this started yesterday when i was responding to the OP about a question he had about any parts that were painted Red Candy and did they match the car... I had window louver from roush that were originally on my 2010 Brilliant silver GT and had them painted Red Candy for my 2011 Red Candy GT/CS and he asked for a pic to illustrate so I posted one... then out of left field here comes this comment...
"Maybe its just me, but the car really looks like it is a girl's car, but also that you better be careful or it will run you off the road. I do not want to start up the whole men vs women thing, but I think that a pretty feminine looking car can also look like it is dangerously fast. Nice choices for mods. They go well together.
And, I went with Lava because it is new, and it has a nice interior. Both Candy red and Kona Blue are also really nice colors though. My mom will be getting a Red Candy. That is a tough choice. "
it continues on the thread there...here is the link to the original thread..

Chrissy, that car is hot and there's nothing girly about it. That comment was one of the weirdest/dumbest that I've read. Love your car. I'm sure there are a lot of guys who would give their nuts to have it. You did good w/ the mods, well done, and that's not a compliment I hand out often.

Personally I think all of the mods that you have done are great. I don't why he seems to think it's looks like a girls car but the fact that a girl does drive it makes it pretty badass IMO~

Hey one girlie girl to another. Men don't know what their getting into messing with us Italians. Were def tough women that can keep up with the best of the men. Including our cars. I came out of wawa the other day and a group of guys were looking at my car. So they felt the need to say oh man a ***** is driving the car and shes hot. So when I backed out I felt the need to rev my engine and make them think I was going to run them over. I rolled my window down said oops women driver. Their response was honey you can run me over anytime. What ********

Are are a girl... Whats the problem?... It is a girl's car.. do you want to drive a man's car?
**done**
but I understand.. it was the way the comment was made. He made it sound like being a girl is a bad thing, and somehow your car wasnt cool. Negative connotations like those are never appropriate. He apologized though... so.. Its all good i think.

Hmmm, I don't really think gender has anything to do with a vehicle. I just mod a vehicle the way I like...if someone thinks it looks good, awesome. If not, that's okay too. Hell they can even think it's my husband's car, no sweat off my back.
Personally I hate when cars are junked up with stickers like "Girlie Girl Racing" and anything else that purposefully tries to draw attention to the gender of the driver.
My first thought when I see that is, who really gives a crap?

I also think you misinterpreted the comment. I don't think he was attacking you at all, and meant it as a compliment. We should all be a little forgiving when it comes to text - some people are better at communicating and interpreting the written word, others...not so much.
The way *I* read it, he was saying that the car is very well put together with careful thought to matching (women do tend to be more meticulous with organization/coordination, it often seems), but looks mean too (hence the "it will run you off the road").

Texting does get people in trouble when you can't hear a persons tone in their voice it's hard to take what they are saying. I didn't see the comment so I can t come up with an opinion on how to take it. Chrissy your car is bad *** own it. I wouldn't even think of it being girlie. Other then that it's very well put together
Just a note but my wife is the one who drives our 335i and I am the one driving the Honda Civic, soooooooo, you be the judge of that one.

I'm not sure the comment was misinterpreted. If for instance it was posted by Bob0022 instead of Chrissy0022, I seriously doubt he would have told "Bob" it looked like a girl's car. Car looks good to me.

boy what fun that was repeating and spelling my name a bazillion times...
