Upper Engine Rebuild
Upper Engine Rebuild
I am new to this forum but have been a longtime Mustang owner. I decided recently I wanted to change the heads, cams, and the valve plate in order to pick up more hp and a better sound from my 07 4.6. Any suggestions for compatible heads (already built) cam, and valve combinations?
Here is my current set up:
2007 Mustang GT
Hooker Long Tubes
Cold Air intake
Electric Water Pump
373 Gear
Underdrive Pulleys
Cat back exhaust
Thanks!

GT500 throttle body
Comp Cams Stage 1 SPR (springs, phaser limiter required -127400 )
Phaser limiters (I got Livernois, but I've since heard people have some issues with them, so maybe go w/ comp cams)
Ford Racing intake (deleted the charge motion control plates)
long tube headers
high flow catted H-pipe
Granatelli 93mm CAI
All that was good for 350 RWHP. The Comp Camps Stage 1 SPR are a really great cam, idle is smooth but a little more aggressive than stock, and it gives you the most gains in mid-RPM, unlike Hot Rod or ***** Thumpers that are set up for high RPM gains. That's great for peak numbers, but for around town driving, I'd rather have it down where I can use it.
The FRPP intake actually shifted the power higher in the RPM range, but between that and the cams, it made for a nice linear powerband all the way up to redline. I'd like a little more grunt down low, but it just keeps pulling all the way till the limiter.
