The only thing I believe that the new Mustang coupe is missing is a sunroof. I don't understand why Ford didn't design an "over the roof" sunroof when it is in the open position? Most cars have sunroofs except our beloved Mustang. WHY? WHY? WHY?

I'm glad they didn't offer a sunroof. IMHO, it takes away from the fastback roofline, as the glass has to be flat, and the roof isn't flat, it's curved. Hence, you will see the glass in a profile shot of the car. Plus, I haven't had 1 customer ask about installing one.

A sunroof would be detrimental to the Mustang's masculine look.

I for one would love to have a moonroof. And it wouldn't have to be flat - they can curve the glass to the profile of the roof - other cars are this way.

I believe it is because there is also a convertible and it would possibly steal sales from the ragtop.

Since I live in Canada I would have gotten a moonroof had it been an option.

That is the Ford party line for not offering a sunroof.

Don't know that I agree it would. It's easy enough to get an aftermarket sunroof and the quality installs look "stock" and don't have the issues of aftermarket sunroofs from a decade ago.

That is Ford's reasoning... I do however think they are missing out on a huge market... I am sure many mustang owners in the snow belt would love a sunroof (I would)

I wouldn't go for an aftermarket system though, that's just me

That really annoys me too... I am having HUGE trouble deciding between the open top fun factor, and the good looks of the fastback coupe... I think the difficulty deciding is actually making me want the car more and more!

I think ultimately the fastback is going to win because I don't feel comfortable being that low down and not having a rail above my head. There's some big SUV's here and a side-impact in the convertible would not be pretty.

I REALLY wish they offered a canvas fold-back sliding top like some of the 60's and 70's sports cars, particularly MGB GT's had by Webasto... I've already measured up the only canvas model Webasto still offers and it would not fit.

To get the open air feeling with the hard-top looks and protection, I'll be going with the ClassicDesignConcepts glass roof panel.

As soon as I get a GT in my name, then I'm putting my name on CDC's waiting list for the glass-top.

I wouldn't get anything that has to be cut/ripped out by a non-manufature source, glass roof looks cool, but unpractical from the point of sunlight being unrestricted above your head, i.e. oven topping temps in sunlight, also T-tops are not available because mullets are a non-dealer installed accessory...

I miss my moon roof on my previous car, it was contoured to the top and when open slid inside the roof rather than over which I think looks ugly. But I don't think I'd want one in this car. The glass back looks cool and is treated to not allow heat in but would be too much $ and work for me to consider. T-tops are cool, dunno how they would look on this car though. The convertible looks sweet with the top down but I don't like it with it up. I don't think I would have purchased any of these options had they been available though.
