Are the oem lights with a 2012 mustang good? i am debating on ordering the car with HID pkg..? but if the stock headlights are bright i will not order that and maybe get remote start instead? thanks for info...ryd.

 

The regular stock ones are just ok, nothing special. If you like the HID look/brightness then I would order them with the car. It's cheaper too. Aftermarket ones don't look right in the regular stock housing and it cost too much to add the factory ones separately. If I had that option when I got my car I would've ordered them.

 

thanks...that is what i was researching, as i asked this question,,,i think with the hid, security and wheel locks its a good deal to go with..thank,,ryd,,NOW to get the dealer to agree to my price..hahhahahha

 

Are you getting any incentives or x-plan pricing? That will help offset the extra cost for that package.

 

The stock headlights on my 2011 are the worst I've ever had on any new car, and I've had 15+ cars. Get the HID's if they're available.

 

It looks like so far i am going with USAA for pricing and options etc...i hope that the dealers they work with are up to make a legit deal that is good for them and me..i will post when i get more answers..

 

I have not used USAA, although they are my insurance company; however, my granddaughter just purchased her first car and used USAA. She got a great deal on the car she wanted.

I drove a 2011 V6 vert last week at night. Halogen headlights are decent, high beams suck. The high beams don't really go down the road, as much as they do more side angle view. Low beams are good as low beams, but since there is an HID option, I'd definately do that! I have HIDs just in the stock housing on my '91 F150 and it's the single best mod I've done to the thing, it's amazing the difference they make. Low beams now shoot further ahead than my halogen high beams did, and way better side road visibility.
