Specialty Insurance Question

I have been stock pilling parts to customize my '07 GT when the warrenty expires and have obtained a few expensive and unique parts to put on the car. I am wondering if there are any insurance companys that specialize in insuring customized cars. My current company does not offer a plan to cover the "modifications" so if the car gets damaged it gets restored to stock only. I'm looking for a company that will cover the actual value of the car once it has been customized.

You may also want to check with your State Insurance Commission. They may require the company to cover your mods, if you have all the documentation as to cost, installation expences, etc. Just a thought.

Try Haggerty. They do classic cars mostly but might offer something. Or do a search for "stated value" auto insurance. You may need reciepts and an inspection as well. Good luck and post back what you find out.
