There is an interesting article in Road&Track Magazine where they covered Mustang V6, Mustang GT, Steeda Q, Saleen S281, Mustang GT-R and Shelby GT500E.

It said that Shelby GT500 will cost $147,000 and it will have 6686 cc engine with 475 hp and 490 lb-ft torque. 0-60 mph in 4.2 sec and 1/4 mile in 12.5 sec @114 mph.

That's the Eleanor replica car that's done by the folks in Texas. That car is a POS and a complete rip-off. Those guys give aftermarket tuners a bad name!

They are Unique Perfomance and I think they have some kind of agreement w/ Mr. Shelby to produce these cars. Here's a link to their site: here

Ummm, not to start an argument, but how is this car either a POS or a rip-off?

Unique Performance is the company that created Eleanor for the new Gone In 60 Seconds movie. They also are involved with Shelby on these cars. The cars are completely rebuilt from the ground up '67 and '68 Mustangs. They are better built than anything originally from that era. If you don't like them because they aren't "true" Shelby's, than send your complaint to Carroll himself. He is the one who signed off on them.

I don't see that as a problem though, because they aren't trying to pass these off as original GT-500's. That is why they have the "E" right on the side of the cars.

From what i can see, that company does top notch work.

I don't think they created Eleanor for the movie. Chip Foose and a couple others were asked to put a car together. Unique just copied that car. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you sure that story is about Eleanor?

Because on the cover it said We test 6 new ones: GT-R Concept, Saleen S281, V-6 Convertible, Shelby G.T. 500E, V-8 GT Coupe, Steeda Q.

1967 Shelby ain't new one.
