General Mustang Chat Not Model Year Specific

shaker 500

i have the shaker 500 system in my gt n i thought i read in the magazine there were 8 speakers total and i only see 4 two in the back and two on the side doors is there only 4 total or there other speakers not visible that total 8 ? thanks

The service manual shows 2 speakers and 2 subs in the front doors, 2 speakers on the rear deck and 2 speakers in the quarter panels. I went out in the garage and checked, but I could not hear anything coming from the quarter panels.

Yes, you can go to the Ford website and it will tell you all the options.

I hear Ford want's major cash to upgrade a Shaker 500 to a Shaker 1000. Something about the wiring arrangements and harnessing.

I checked with a local installer and they are much more reasonable for the needed work for the upgrade.

I think they count the speakers in front as two in each door, plus the two subs, for a total of 6 in the front. 2 tweets, 2 mid-range, 2 subs, plus the two in the back.
