Save the 2015 Prototype!

As with most prototypes, Ford plans to crush the S-550 when production begins. Please sign this petition asking Ford not to crush this historically valuable car!

Most prototypes aren't anything special, so why save them?

I really hope you're joking. What would have happened if no one had saved this?

In this sense, you're mistaking concept cars and prototypes. The prototypes are flawed, early builds of the final-ish model. They're for testing and are not special at all.

Exactly what car are you wanting them to save? A random show car?...perhaps a camo mule?

Not really; just lumping them in together. The 2003 S-197 concept just sold at auction for an undisclosed amount. If you've seen it, it provides a lot of insight into where Ford was going just by looking at it. No, this is not a concept, but it is significant and could do a lot more good than being sold as scrap metal.

This is the car they're dragging around the country to show off. If I could get them to save the mules, I would do that as well, but the mules are both a mix of the old and the new. Not much left to save of them by now, I'm certain.

It's not a concept and is no more significant than any production model, which I'm sure will sit in a museum somewhere just as well.

There would never have been the Mach 5 and Speed Racer

hate to see any of them crushed...pull the vins, donate them to a school bodyshop/anything... even if nothing really special, heck i bet they could donate them to some art/design schools and let them clay them up into some 'free design exercises'.

one of the saddest things ive seen with cars -

Untrue, There are going to be differences between the prototype and the production model. Things will change and parts will be adapted to fit those changes. You may see an entirely different exhaust (for example, not suggesting it will happen) than is on there now. Happens all the time. This is not VIN 001 for the 2015. You people are supposed to be Mustang fans; why the hell are you even arguing this?

I would save a true concept car. Pre-productions are just cars.

Jesus, if you people are really stupid enough to believe there is no value in saving a prototype Mustang, maybe you should trade yours in and go by a Prius. Seems more your speed.

Have a nice life...

You sound like you just don't know what the hell you're talking about. If that hurts your feelings, then too **** bad.

My initial guess was right...You joined this forum just to support your own ignorant agenda. Go spam some other forum...we don't need you.
