Reginal trends: V-8 or V-6
I recently took a 10 day vacation in Arizona and Nevada (beautiful country). We drove from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon, then onto Las Vegas (in a rental, Chrysler 300C). Since I recently obtained my very first Mustang my wife and I notice every pony we passed on the highway. One thing I observed was that 98% of the late model Mustangs we saw were V-6 vehicles. I did see a few GT models but the ratio of V-6 to V-8 was very, VERY heavily tilted to the V-6. Here in western PA it's just the opposite, about 8 to 2 in favor of the V-8 ponies. Curious; I have to wonder if it has something to do with the sales demographics or if folks out west are really trying to get the best MPG bang for their buck. How 'bout it westerners, any opinions?
My guess would be that in the southern/western states there are a lot
of rentals, which would be 6's. Even in Hawaii I saw a lot of Stangs but mostly
6 Verts from rental lots. In the midwest/northeast not so many rentals... ?
