Yup all the time. Park clear out in the north 40 to be away from everyone. Never fails I come out and there it is right in the space next to me. Nothing else is close., and wide open parking spots everywhere. All I can say about it is at least it is a newer Cadillac in good shape even if it is basically a mini van (cross over same thing). I usually get a real POS parked next to me. Dents and paint falling off. It really pisses me off. Not sure what their problem is, just leave me alone. Right?

Funny thing is, the women comes out at the same time as me (moments right after I took these photos), smiles at me and says 'what a beautiful car'. Then she gets in her Caddy and leaves. So, she's nice. But c'mon man, it's not a magnet, it's a car, leave me alone already!!

But she parked close just so she could compliment you. Interaction is harder at a distance.

At least it was a Cadillac and not someone with a 1987 Astro van.

A while back I parked so far in a part of lot that I practically needed binoculars to see the store. And lord knows I needed the exercise anyway.

When I came out I saw a brightly colored vehicle parked right next to me. I realized it was a GHIG Boss302. The owner was still in the car and he said "hope you don't mind...figured we could each protect at least one side of our cars". Very cool thing to do, and I would have probably done the same.

I think it is just human nature to park next to someone. I have noticed that I do it as well when im in my truck and dont really think about it. Almost like you are the beginning of a row.

Lol. I'll do it if it's a hot car so I can look at it. I guess I'm the enemy.

I'm always parking far out to stay away from everyone too. If someone is there before me, I'll leave a spot in between us.

That's why you need to get a corner spot, not mark right in the middle of the row!

Primitive creatures revert to the herd instinct as default.

It happens all the time. Its the "herd instinct" as mentioned before.
Remember my post the next time you are using the self serve checkouts and realize that people have lined up behind you despite all the other stands clearly open! Usually, nice cars that park near you are NOT being douchebags.
