I purchased a shifter **** and drakes boot retainer part # 5r3z-7213-BRBK. Problem is that the boot retainer is very night going on the shifter when i try to screw it on. Anyone else had this problem, or is it suppose to be very hard to twist on? Please help! Thanks

 

Do you have any way to chase those threads, Sampey?

Chase = run the appropriate tap through internal (female) threads, or use a die on external (male) threads. Serves to freshen up threads or eliminate a ding or speck of metal that may be impeding the proper meshing of threads.
