Ponies on The Run (Again)
NTTAWWT
I talked to both tom281 and psracer and they say the M&H tire on 17s are the ones to beat right now... I'll have to find the thread but there is a nice tire discussion in it, might be tom's "new personal record" thread or my whipple thread.
I almost called you. The track seem MUCH better than Qualcomm and the whole set up looks really, really well done.
Cheater Slicks or DRs, helmet and fire jacket and I'm racing, but that won't happen right away. Gotta spend on a couple other things first. I'm thinking at the very least a couple of us should go out there just to shoot the feces and watch. Heck for 10 bucks you can't beat it with a stick.
If you're ever up here on a Thursday we gotta go. Also they're running once a month on Sundays from Apr 20 to Aug ....something. We could do that too !!!!

Looks like you had a great time.
Here is what my evening was like....

Didn't run the car (first freeway trip > 80mph and the rears need to be re-balanced...), just checked it out. For $10 bucks it was pretty cool. Next time I'll have to get there earlier to get better pics.

On your tires.. need a re-balance already?
I'm guessing you have taped weights on the inner rim?
Might be perfect timing, Jed and I talked about leaving the South Bay around that time, putting us in Santa Monica at around 6:45ish.

Here it's 10 to watch and 20 run. It's open at 4, racing starts @5 and ends @10 or 11. Like any other good SoCal'er I left early to beat the traffic. Didn't stick around until the end.
after 7:00. Yeah it was a pretty good crowd but I don't know how it compares
Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Around 65-70 the car vibrates, acceleration or not, under 65 it goes away. yes taped on weights... like th bullitts... suggestions.
ETs & M&H are types of Drag Radials. I found out that because I am adding a non-factory power-adder I need an SFI approved fire retardant jacket as well as a helmet to run.
yeah... C'mon, ya gotta go... all the cool kids are doin' it.
someone PM/email me. There is no way I can leave my earlier than 6:00. I will do what I can.

Vortech update...
Today is the day to kick the tires and light the fire!
MAF wiring complete, all fluids filled, battery charged, & engine bay spiffed up for it's video debut.
T-bolt clamps not installed yet until everything on the intake side passes inspection (because of the nylon locknut, they shouldn't be tightened-loosened more than 3x... FAA req, right George? ).
Tonight and Saturday's job is to hook up the BAP, gauges, and re-install the Shaker and she should be ready to roll out. I'm getting excited now!!

Thanks guys!!!
Let me just cut to the chase....
Note: Only 1 issue noted, the oil feed line fitting into the SC has a tiny oil leak (about 1 drop in 10 mins), just needs to be tightened a bit more. And that's it! Rest appears to be stable and functioning properly. Next test is the road and drivability test (the fun one).
