It's working pretty good so far. I also have a jar of the Mothers Billet Metal Polish. I'm planning on using that as the finisher.

The Ball did a nice number on the tank looks sick! The Ball looked like a "Fro" as it got black.

BTW I went to Adam's today and picked up my Porter Cable polisher they threw in a Adam polishing towel because I'm a cool guy Thanks for the address Luis!

Bill I use Mothers Billet on the Kenne Bell it's works beauty!

Canton tanks look good Bill.

After seeing this thread I think I've found my next mod. I'll probably try them unpainted for first just in case Iike the and if it doesn't grow on me I'll get them painted like this guy did.

Tanks are gorgeous

I've loved the mirrors as soon as I saw them on George's PJ. I probably will upgrade to them and get them painted like the ones in the thread. But other things first first GO then SHOW

Yup they've grown on me. I'm going to try to leave them with the satin finish first. If I still don't like it then I'll paint them like the guy in the thread I posted.

I definitely think you should try them in the satin finish first. I have a feeling that they won't look much different, since the car is black already. Plus, that way you don't have to worry about paint issues (ie- rock chips, bugs, etc).

But, I'm wondering. Since the car is black, would painting the whole thing black look better than the 50/50 paint that most are doing.

And, yes, 2:20 am EST. That's what I get for waiting for the last minute to write up a report.

Well I've seen them painted all black on a black car and didn't really like it. If I paint them it's going to be 50/50 or nothing at all. But of course I'll try them unpainted first. I'd be stupid not to. My only hesitation now is that stupid molding line running down the center.

EDIT: GO TO SLEEP!!!

Leo, I vote that you funnel this mod money to the S/C fund. Go after the big fish and leave the guppies for later.

There's nothing wrong with the S2. I can see if you got popped by the fuzz (be it radar or laser) and was the fault of the range of the S2, but you haven't.

Nothing against the hardwired or cig plug units, but the cordless unit offers the cleanest look. Just measly $.02.

That's probably going to be my biggest problem in saving for the s/c is trying not to buy anything else.

As far as the S2 goes I just found myself not using it. My drive to work is 2 miles and my avg speed is 35-45. During my trips to Hawthonre and back I usually go with the flow of the far left lane so not really worried about getting pulled over. Knock on wood but I haven't gotten a speeding ticket ever.

Having a radar detector is just like insurance.. most likely never need it, but when you do, it's a life saver!

I have a solution to your S/C fund. Start getting your gauges, pillar pod, Fluidyne () and basically everything just short of the kit (centri or TS, doesn't matter at this time). Once you collect all that stuff, you'll be at the point of no return.

I may by one agian in the future but it will be a hardwired unit.

Or maybe everytime I feel the itch for a mod I should buy a piece of the supercharger.

FYI-I'll be in Hawthorne this weekend.

My commute is about 2-2.5 miles and I still got popped by a radar cop. Granted I was 18 over the speed limit, but still. I would have love to have had a detector.

Leo, I'd buy it but I'm looking at getting a couple things that I've been putting off before the Knott's show.

If after the Knott's show you still have it let me know I'll be interested.

Wheel shopping what a serious P.I.T.A. Anyone have any trouble with American Muscle ?? What about Discount Tire ? Leo... I know you mentioned a tire shop and I can't remember who is was.... who did you go to ? and would you go back again ? (name of the chain, not the specific place).

It was easier to find an installer than pick wheels. It doesn't help that I'm being probably a little to stingy in that department but I just can't do 1200-1600 bucks just for wheels and close to another 1000 in tires, so wheels are probably going to get the short end of the deal. ARGH. Why couldn't Ford put a 9 inch wheel on our car ?

I haven't sold it by then I'll let you know.

I got my tires from Discount Tire. They were great. They were willing to price match without any hassle. I just told them a price and the guy didn't even think twice. I thought you were sticking with the bullits?

Great to know...

I'd dearly love to, but I will need a bigger tire and the 8.5" just won't cut it for a larger tire.unfortunately. I was thinking of going 275/40 all around but I think it's too big for the rim. So right now I'm thinking 255/45 & 285/40. Both are the same diameter.

Brian's working behind the scenes for some new wheels & tires.. I'm guessing the debut will be at the Knotts show?

Since you brought it up, show us what you're thinking about.
