Yes, still planning on parts upgrades since the motor will be out.
I have to run a deposit by him this Friday so he can start ordering parts.. Centerforce DF clutch, JBA shorties, OEM oil pump & gaskets, ARP head studs, etc..

That's funny, I just picked up another Passport 8500 last week. I got it to replace my wifes out-dated detector in her PT Cruiser( now we have 3 8500's). Then by the time it arrived I had decided to get her another car and traded in the PT so she got a new car to go along with the new detector
Ive always heard good things about the V1, I'm sure you will like it.

Hmm... You guys have me thinking about radar detectors now. What's the recommended/popular choice?

Usually every discussion I see the two favoreds are Valentine V1 and Escort Passport 8500. Escort has a new one out (9500i I think)that adds GPS to it. It has a lot of added features over the 8500 but I still like the 8500. Among other things the GPS marks locations of false alarms and then it doesn't go off in that spot again, I like that but I always hardwire my detectors and put them up by the visor and I didn't think that the GPS would get a signal because the detector is up against the headliner so I stuck with the 8500 for about $200 less and the same performance.

Choices are all over the place. I like the cordless Solo S2, Jed the 9500, Leo the 8500, and George the Cobra.

I just don't like wires, so the S2 fits the bill nicely.

So does that mean that if you get popped by radar, you're gonna put your front sway bar back on

Radar talk

Hahaha

This reminds me of this add. Leo is on the other side of the detector clan...

I have this one 9500i, I like it but it hasn't saved me yet I don't think. Sure makes me look out for the man when it goes off though

You know what they say cars that go fast need radar detectors

Why no more detector(s)? Leo, get the front sway bar back on

I don't really speed or anything but I figured it would be nice to have around

congrats tom

I dont have a radar detector, it would be nice to have one, but although my current ride is fast enough to get me in trouble, Im almost always a level headed driver. I do open it up on occasion though.
