Not trying to flame or be smart hass but I do not understand some things like how did it get started that people purchasing T shirts and ball caps to advertise for manufactures? They use to be free.
Guys will raise tell if a dealer puts a dealer badge on the car then they will paste procharger, Saleen,Roush, Steeda and other badges on their cars and one guy has even has seat covers with a manufactures name I never heard of embroidered on the back. Who is Fang?
I sure don't want to pay for exhaust tips that has manufactures name on them.
I don't understand why a person buys a V6 then tries to make it look like a GT with fog light, badges and options.
Is all of this Hey Look At Me statement, impression or what?
Is this a world wide thing or just in the US? California does not count.
Please advise.

isent the point of the mustang partially "hey look at me", with the V6 doing it affordably and the GT backing up the look

It's just people being.....well......people. It's human nature to personalize & individualize their possessions. If you live in a gated community & everyone has red brick, black shutters, & a white door & then you come along & get yellow siding, green shutters, & a blue door, what's that? It's you standing out from the crowd & saying "hey, look at me!".

It's the same as if you add tint & stripes to you car. That's you personalizing your car & that's them personalizing theirs. JMTOT

Now, WHY does California NOT count? I have never been there but am told it is still part of the USA.

a. Its personal choice. If I want a manufacturers name boldly displayed on my Mustang its my choice to make... not somebody elses.

b. Its my car. If I chose to customize the car and make it look like something else, its my car, my decision, my money invested, and my choice. There is no rule telling me how my car should look.

c. I pay the bills. If I want to purchase fog lamps for the front of the car or a spoiler for the back, I pay the bills for the car therefore I choose the statement I want the car to make.

d. I have to live with my decisions. I chose whether or not my car is as unique as a Lambo or as generic as a Toyota Corolla.

Hmm... obviously its all about ME!!!!

Until it falls off the continent!

Before I came here I'd never thought to take the dealer tag off. A month or so into my membership here I scraped it right off. My Stang looked naked without it!

I think I'd feel alright with a dealer logo if I'd gotten a good deal on a car. Just like I believe K&N makes a good product and I don't mind thier sticker on my car.

My car salesman is not paying my payments for me...Therefore the second thing I did to Eleanor was remove the free Dealer advertising..

"scraped it right off" makes me envision you out there with a putty knife.

I think this world would be pretty boring if we were all the same. I love watching how people individualize their cars. God bless America.
