Picked up a new project (not a Mustang) but a cool old car!

1966 Dodge Dart GT
225 Slant Six (leaning tower of power)
904 3 spd auto trans!

Got to drive it around today, even took the family to dinner in it!
Had it towed home 2 weeks ago!
The previous owner said the engine was done!
Their local mechanic said it needed a whole new engine, carburetor, and ignition system!
I cleaned the carb, adjusted the valves, changed points, condenser, spark plugs, changed all the fluids. Drained the gas tank and adjusted the brakes.
Runs like a champ!
Touched up under the hood a little, gave it a good cleaning and here it is!

Cool car but I must ask if it's a real GT. Did they make a GT with a 6 cylinder??

It is a real GT.
Dodge used the GT as a trim package!
Most GT had slant six!
It even came with the original dealer maintence card still under the hood!

Awesome find! The 60's had the best car styling for all American manufacturers.

Yep, my grandpa, then my dad had a Valiant when I was a kid that had the slant 6 and you couldn't kill that thing.

I have never been a car show person, but I would like to try going to some this year. Do you know of any coming up in the Sacramento area?
What's the best way to find out about shows in my area?

Around here, local owned auto parts stores usually have flyers and whatnot posted up about car shows, cruise ins and such.

Thanks for the link!
I guess I just didn't search right

I'm looking for smaller local shows, the Sacramento Autorama is the biggest show of the year around here!
Most cars there are $100K plus!

Very Very Nice Find! I think you found a nugget, that someone thought was a turd! Congrats! Glad you were able to get the beauty running. I like that very much. That interior is unbelievable.
