what are you comparing them in? a drag race video? or like an actual comparo of the 2? if you want the classic V8 sound, i'd say spend the money on a 2010 GT if your lucky to find the one you want.

ah. it's a drivers race IMO. their both almost equally matched in a 1/4 mile run. the V6 i believe weights about 50-100lbs less than the GT, but the GT has the torque to make up for its 50-100lbs over the V6. thats just me...i think it really depends on the driver but if i had to go with one or the other i'd pick the GT over the V6 by a foot.

The older GTs also weigh a little less than the new ones.
I know my 2006 weighs less than the new V6.
With a simple tune, my GT has more HP and a lot more torque.

30 mpg and the insurance savings is also a plus. But, I'd go with the GT.

race you buddy for a long distance, he'll run out of gas, your V6 will get great mileage.. that being said I have to have a 5.0 just for what it can do, but the extra bucks for insurance and the up front cost for the GT is a consideration if you are on a budget

2011 V-6 or 2012, but with the Performance Package. Lot of nice power upgrades out there for the new V-6, that use to be only afforded to the old V-8's. IMHO.
