NOT happy - wrecked my car tonight
I was rear ended on the way home tonight. I'll post pic's tomorrow. An older Camry hit me going fast enough to deploy their air bags. The Camry is probably totalled. My car doesn't look too bad at first glance but when you look underneath it, it is pretty bad. My biggest concern is structural. Either my trailer hitch is bent or the areas it ties into are. It also appears that the gas tank has a wrinkle (kind of scary) and the left muffler and tailpipe is way out of whack. The panel between the gas tank and the back side of the bumper is screwed up. Worst of all my Bama / Roll Tide license plate is damaged. It drives fine with the exception of wind noise and muffler clanking sounds. Any thoughts on what it will cost to fix???

I had the car to a body shop this morning and got a good chance to look at it with daylight. What I assumed (wrong) was that my tank had a wrinkle is actually the trunk floor pan. What can I say - I was angry and adrenalin was flowing and it was dark... I had the alignment checked to since it was just done a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't changed substantially. Damage seems to be predominately cosmetic.
Off topic but I'm pretty sure my friend I'm moving in with at the end of June lives in roswell. How do you like living around there? I'm coming from a small town in Iowa so it's going to be a huge change for me lol

Sorry to hear! Looks like the Stang won. Camry is much worse off. Hope everyone was ok. Looks like your ride will make it to ride another day. Maybe it's time for exhaust, bumper, and rear fascia mods. Best of luck on the repairs! I would still be pissed!

Sorry for the sad news but everyone walked away and that is what counts most! It appears the Mustang can take quite a punch! I hope it gets repaired quickly and correctly!
Glad to hear you're OK first and foremost. I wonder if the trailer hitch helped in absorbing the impact? Kind of like a cross-brace bar. I had someone rear-end me in an old 1974 Malibu with a trailer hitch - totalled his car and it looked very much like that Camry. The Malibu needed a new trailer hitch and that was it.

OK - everybody put a trailer hitch on your Mustang for safety!!
I'm sorry to hear about the accident! That looks really crappy. However, most importantly I'm glad to hear you're okay and aren't injured. Car's are replaceable/fixable! It sounds like your car should be back on the road in no time. Best of luck.

I'm glad to hear you're okay and that the 'Stang made it out without too much damage. I just wanted to pass along some info about your rights as a vehicle owner to get your repairs done using Genuine OEM parts. Hope it helps and that you're able to get back out on the road ASAP!
Let me know if you have any questions!
