So next question. I am going to Change the gears. I hear 3.73 best for manuals and 4.10 for automatics. Is this true? Or is it a 4.10 or go home?

373 gears should be fine. Very nice looking 01. Sweet.

 

It was very well keep, stayed in a temp controlled garage. Only has 48k miles. Diffidently want some gears. I dropped 3.73 in my other manual and loved it. Already has flow master 40's catback only. So I still need mid pipe and headers. (the exhaust sound makes me smile every time i start it) Not going to super charge or turbo, so my preference was to go long tube headers. CAI is a must, thinking steeda or JTL. I already have a Bama tuner and ready to load some custome tunes. Cams down the road. I want to us this for a local car show and cruise/joy ride car.

This is my first vert. So if I can get any info on vert top care. Help to stop sun/weather cracking.

 

In my opinion go for the 4.10s , with a near 7,000 RPM capability the gears will become addictive! My own school of thought is 3:73 for 94-98 GTs and the 4:10s are my preference for the DOHC! Though it's only my opinion- you can't go wrong!

I have to say, sense I got this vert. I take my 11yo son to sonic for a slushy every night. We make up reasons to go cruise. Even if we have to drive to Walmart to see if they changed the price for a pack of football cards (it could happen). Ultimate driving experience and even more fun. Now to finish up his ride for when he can drive.
