Mustangs: More urban than suburban?
I live in the suburbs of Vancouver and for the past few weekends I've been noticing that I'm not seeing many Mustangs out and about in my neighbourhood or nearby, but when I ventured to the city, I saw a bunch.
Granted, I'm kind of looking for them -- I hopefully will be purchasing one next year, so they're on the brain -- But it's fairly consistent for most of my outings this year so far. I'm not seeing many in the suburbs, but a bunch in the city.
Is that your experience? Thoughts??

As far as I can tell ours is the only Mustang in a fairly large historic district. But, as I get farther away from the city proper I see quite a few older models. Around here it seems the newer models are mostly fair weather cars, or Sunday drivers. We bought ours to drive, and that's what we do. I already have two quite large dust collectors in the garage, don't need another.

In the city, people drive Prii, Camries, Corollas, RX330s, Fusions, Escapes (yours truly), Accords, Sonatas, Elantras...you get the picture.
People might have a Mustang as their weekend car, as mentioned above, but most people (the mindless drones of the work force, of which I work with) drive appliances. I would venture the Fusion and/or Escape daily driver is someone who at least appreciated style, but he's forced to park with the rest.

Mustangs are everywhere IMO. Even in the sticks here in western NC there are a lot of them. No cities are even close. Asheville (not really a big city) is over an hour away and Atlanta 2 hours away.
If you don't want to blend in with everyone it's nice to get an unusual version, like a Bullitt or high performance version. When we went on vacation last year out west we saw dozens and dozens of rental Mustangs, especially in the AZ and Grand Canyon region. They were as prevalent as **** Camrys. I'm sure Vancouver's rental agencies have dozens in their fleets as well. That could be why you notice them more when there.

True enough, all. And when you think of it, when I usually venture out and see more Mustangs, I'm out there with my family and not working, having fun.
I'm very lucky in that I work from home.

I don't know, really. Last summer we vacationed in Prince Edward Island. On the way there and back from Toronto I had to have seen 4 or 5 late model (like no more than 3 year old) GT500's in the wilds of New Brunswick. Who would have thought that there was a hotbed of Shelby love in Moncton? I think the criteria may be: a Mustang being primary vehicle=urban Being secondary (after the pickup)=suburban/rural. And of course there is no room for discussion after that pronouncement.

More people in urban areas = more Mustangs
Less people in suburban/rural areas = less Mustangs
Less people in suburban/rural areas = less Mustangs
