Mustang VS Bugs
Mustang VS Bugs
Maybe its just me, but my Mustang is in a constant battle with bugs. I am not sure who is winning the battle, even if most of the bugs are dead. There are 2 parts of this battle so to speak.
The one I don't understand is the Mustang is like a bug magnet. I wash it and before I have completely dried it there are bugs landing on it. When it is sitting in the driveway I come outside and find all kinds of bugs crawling on it. And then when I get in the car, bugs try to come inside it. Is the Mustang a bugs favorite vehicle?? I don't get it.
The other one is all the bugs stuck on the bumper/front of the Mustang after driving. Granted I understand most of the concepts of why the bugs get stuck on the vehicle while driving, its just an usually large amount. I have never seen the number of bugs stuck to the Mustang on the other vehicles I drive. Even my Raider which is a box essentially with a big flat front grille and bumper doesn't get as many bugs. Its almost like they are suicidal bugs and figure its better to go out (or a higher honor) splattered on a Mustang than another vehicle.
Anyone else have bug issues?

As the saying goes, you ain't seen nothin' yet. A few years ago we drove our S2000 back to South Dakota for a large gathering of S2000s. On the way through Montana we encountered grasshoppers - bazillions of grasshoppers.
Can't say that I have noticed more bugs stuck to the front of the car after driving...even out on the country roads...but I have noticed that bugs seem attracted to it when it's parked...it is odd.

Plain and simple the are a ton of bugs! I am getting so sick of getting them off of the front of our four vehicles! However, I will take removing bugs over shoveling snow any day...... Snow maybe flying in less than 12 weeks......
I don't even want to think of it.....

Yeah, I guess bugs find it a great honor to die splattered on the front bumper of a Mustang.
Beyond the evidence pointing to "Bugs <3 Mustangs" I am starting to think the fact when she drives the Mustang its to work at night for her 3rd shift job has something to do with it. So it seems it may be at least true that bugs prefer Mustang HIDs to other headlights.
I can see it now...
"4 out of 5 bugs prefer the luminosity of Mustang HIDs over other vehicle's headlights."

We are headed west to Oklahoma City. I just saw on the news that the area there is overran by crickets because of the wet summer. Looks like I'll wipe out half the population as we drive through.
I'm really glad now that I bought that Colgan bra, and mirror covers before we left.
