For all of you who drives your Mustangs in the snow, what do you in order to ... drive? I have so many problems it takes me hours to get to school (it usually takes me 30 min). Do you keep some weight in the trunk (I tried that - didn't help)?

I would really appreciate some tips.

In the past I had 1997 Dodge Intrepid for winter. But my friend's 1996 Mazda 626 just broke down and until he fix it he's driving my Intrepid.

Take it really slow, start out in 2nd if you can. Just ease on it. Weight helps alot more than you realize.. I've never had to drive the cobra in ice/snow, but i drove my 2000 automatic GT that had 4.10's and no traction control with bald BFG's on the back once in ice.. it was not fun and took me 3 hours to get a normal 1 hour trip.

i drive the GT fine in snow, on BFG Skorchers. Just take it slow, and give yourself plenty of time to slow down.

The 05 has traction control. That helps alot, plus the weight distribution. I drove mine in the snow a few times. Yes, the key is to take it easy. I only had a 50lb box of ice melt in my car and only had the TC kick on a couple times going up hill. The rest was fine.

It will take longer. Even if you were able to drive fast, think of other drivers. They will go slow and block you, or they will drive crazy and hit you. So take it slow and allow some extra time.

I turn the TC off in snow, the thing is insane, I will already have started to correct the problem when the TC kicks in and seems determined to send me off the road.
Advice for driving in snow, always keep the car in a low gear (engine brakes the car then) and like Tavis and Chris said, leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front.

I have a 88 5.0. The first ride home in my mustang was in the snow and it was deff. not a fun ride. Expecially when ur not experienced driving a mustang (expecially in bad weather). I almost hit 2 poles and did a couple 180's and ive never driven it in the snow again. its fun slidding around and everything... but only in a parkinlot...

On the way out of my neighborhood, I have three stop signs at inclines. Two of them I can run without stopping. But the third one is a busy intersection, so I have to stop. I hate that. :bang:

snow and mustangs......been there and done that, and beacuse i only have one car i must do it agian. ive had to deliver pizza in the snow, let me tell you , not fun. I drive my stang sometimes in the snow only when i really need to. Basically take it slow, but if you dont have to drive leave it home till the roads are somewhat clean, i totaled my first stang a 1990 gt in the snow, they just stink in that weathe nothing you can do.

I was wondering about this. I feel the exact same way about antilock brakes. I can work the brakes better than the antilocks. Wish I could turn those off! Yes, a manual tranny is always better in the snow.
