Mustang Movies
Did a search assuming this topic had to have already been discussed but didn't find anything, so...
I just watched Bullit for the first time a couple days ago -- great Mustang sequence about an hour into the movie. Supposedly 100+ MPH car chase with Steve McQueen doing his own driving!
I'll probably watch Gone in 60 Seconds (again) in the next week or so.
But after that am starting to wonder what classic Mustang movies I can watch to tide me over while I wait.

Find a copy of the original Gone in 60 Seconds from 1974. It has a great hour chase scene with a '73 "Mach1", but its really just a yellow fastback with some mods. If you watch closely half way through the chase they also just happen to pass by a 1970 Grabber Blue Boss 429.
If you're into James Bond movies, Diamonds are Forever has a nice shorter chase scene with a '71 Mach1.

There is nothing better then Bullit. How can you order this car and never have seen Bullit until now?
Both gone in 60 seconds are pretty cool though in terms of the Mustangs.
Not sure what this has to do with the 2005 mustang, but what ever.

Watch the chase again and count how many hubcaps come off the killer's Charger. 8 or 9 last count! ha haa
Did anyone see that 68 GTO they pass up. Made my heart skip a beat.
Now that woulda been a chase!

As far as what this has to do with '05 Mustangs, seems like the two biggest selling features of the '05 is the classic style and bang for the buck. Considering I've watched every one of those dang '05 videos on the Ford site anout 10 or more times each, it seemed time to try and find something with a litttle more meat. Other than a few clips here and there on the web, there are no '05 vid's, so next best thing is to go back to the original body style that drove the current design.
At some point I'll probably see about renting a Mustang with a stick just to mess around for a day or two. It's been years since I drove a stick regularly, so better to "practise" on a rental than my car once it gets here.

The fastest car in that movie is the Green Bug. Now matter how many times they pass it, it is still ahead of them.
Paul???????? What's goin on??????? As penance, you should go out and buy a copy of the movie and watch it, oh, maybe all weekend or something.
Otherwise, welcome to the Bullitt club. IT IS THE BEST, the coolest, etc, etc.....my vote for #1.
And poor, poor Darthbob. Once again, you've got nothing better to do during your wait than to count hubcaps in movies - and silly GTO made by.....who was it???
See ya

Oh well, there must be at least a few worth adding to the Netflix queue!

In fast and the Furious 2, two semi trucks ran over a brand new Saleen Mustang...I was HORRIFIED
.....I think there is a nice 1968 Bullitt clone in the movie "Vanilla Sky"
