Mustang Insurance Question

What would the difference in $ be for a 2012 mustang v6 (new) vs a 2010 mustang gt (used). Any estimates? I know they are similar in power despite the gt having two more cylinders. I'm guessing the gt is a bit higher? Help much appreciated!

You need to get quotes from your insurance agent for the differences. Insurance quotes have many variables and will differ from person to person.

^^^ this. The formulas they use are beyond what anyone could guess here. Everything about the exact car, you, where you live and how much you typically drive (and maybe when) can factor into it. Then, they apply overall statistics to try and calculate risk, coupled with that particular underwriter's market strategy (some cater to younger drivers, some not, for example).

When thinking of the difference between two vehicles like you are, a lot has to do with repair costs. Also, statistical history on claims - if data is available. Mustangs have been around a long while, so there's a large history base to draw from.

If you don't have or don't want to contact your own agent, you could plug numbers into some of the online insurers to get a comparison idea. Yeah, they might spam your email afterwards, so you might want to use one of "those" email addresses. If you have a VIN to plug in, that will help quickly narrow down the vehicle specifics.
