mustang gt 2011 armrest console won't open

bought the car today and put the owner's manual in the armrest console. now armrest console won't open. tried to lock and unlock it; no luck. any ideas? Thanks!

it was my error; i now know that you need to press down on the little chrome bar to get the console to open. duhhhhh
