Which Mustang to get?

Hi all, I'm new, so sorry if this is not posted in the correct forum. Anyways here is the deal. I have a 95' Accord 2dr Coupe which I have had forever, my only car. I do really love it and I have treated it well and it has never given me problems but I figure it can only last so long. I am looking for something new and different to spice things up a little bit. I have always loved Mustangs but had never really looked into them. Turns out they start out relatively cheap. I am only really looking to spend about 25k though so any suggestions on what route to go would be appreciated. In your opinons...
I am really not very car savvy and don't know a whole lot about the technical terms and such so help me out. I see the basic V6 starts out around 22k. Then there is the V6 Premium around 26k. What are the differences between these two that warrants the extra 4k?
Then there is the V6 Convertible for about 27k... Is that the same as the basic V6 and has 5k tacked on for the roof, or is it the same as the V6 Premiuim with an extra 1k for the roof?
How much better is each in your opinion?
Or should I take my money and buy a model a couple years older that has a few miles but may be a better model like the GT.
Thanks for the input all!

Austin

This is a great Resource to see the Options on the New models. If you have been driving an accord I think the 11 or 12 V6 would be a Great start. The v8's thirst for fuel comparatively would probaly not be acceptable for you.

KC

You could drive the Accord an put the money into a old 60's Mustang an keep the Accord for a daily driver an use the Mustang on the weekends an stuff.

don't forget to budget in 4 wheels and snow tires for the Mustang if you live where it snows. go for the V 8. Unless you get the same performance suspension and limited slip of the v8. When I ordered mine in o7 you did not.

I sold my Accord coupe to get a GT too. The Mustang *will not* be as problem free as the Accord.

Don't be so sure... #901 has been flawless thus far right out of the box!
And my 83 F150 4x has 253k and still kickin! (new engine at 218 from broken ring.) Its been used to skid logs, pull stumps, 4 wheelin', snow plow, pull stuck vehicles out of the snow, commuter, cross country freeway, haul cords & cords of firewood, hauled hay for years - a TON at a time, you name it! It has never stranded me anywhere.

(ahem) congratulations. However, 6 Hondas in a row. Only 1 went back for warranty work, one time and it was fixed and that was in 1986.

I have spent more time working on my Mustang in the last 10 days then I have spent working on all my Hondas. And the last Honda went 244K miles and ran like new.

No problem.

By the way that was the original engine AND clutch on the Honda, 244K.
