I was browsing through the news on my computer and came across this article:
By Hazel Savage- Mechanic Insider
1. Classic: Ford Mustang Convertible
Embrace the iconic American muscle car spirit with the Ford Mustang Convertible. With its powerful engine, timeless design, and legendary performance, the Mustang is the epitome of classic American muscle, perfect for tearing up the open road.
Number 2 is the Cadillac convertible and number 6, the Corvette.
I was surprised that Corvette came in 6th.
I had copied it as is because it was to rub it in on my Corvette owning niece. The article didn't say if it was number 1 in the world or America.
I've owned four Mustang's, two hard tops and the last two both convertibles. Don't recall getting any comments on my 1965, nor my 1970 Mach I, but both convertibles seem to attract people and most wanting to tell you about when they owned a Mustang.

We have owned 3 Mustang 'verts and my wife would never be without one. I'm OK either way with them but they are extra work to keep nice. Nothing beats cruising 'topless' on road trips or on the Blue Ridge Pkwy which is just 45 minutes away. I had one Corvette 'vert and you can have them as far as I'm concerned. No space in the car and there are dozens of micro mechanisms that operate the top on the modern machines, all waiting to break or fail. My '09 C6 was insanely fast, but bye bye.
My 3 Fords and Chevy below:
We owned this 2004 for a short time before getting my '07. I only got it because it was an unreal end of year price back in '04. Really nice ride, just slow.
We had this 2007 GT/CS until 2022 when I couldn't shift the 5 speed any longer without discomfort. I still miss it. We took this car all over the US / Canada.
Our current 2014 GT 'vert. Man, this is a fast one!! Our only Corvette 'vert and our last. Cool fast machine for sure but Mustangs #1. Bye bye....
Your white GT/CS very close to my 08 GT/CS, loved the white color and the car. But I do like the premium interior so ended up with the black convertible, 2012. They are a lot of work but with my wife's dementia it is a good stress reliver for me. And I get away from the TV and get some exercise.
Good thought. I'm nearly 87 yrs old so when I do the car I do it in sections. The hood one-time, next time the two car doors, etc. I don't use a buffer and wipe on and wipe off one of several ceramic, acrylic products. But even that over time could remove the paint.
I Can Tell You The Paint is Thin on These Newer cars. Back In The Day The Wife Backed My Then New 05 Mustang into my Company Truck and I Was Really Surprised By How Thin it Was! It Was a Really Foggy Night! Truck Was White!
Right Before Christmas 05. Ho Ho Ho! Daddy Was Not Very Jolly! Think it Had about 6K Miles on It!
My current and previous Mustang are/were 'verts. I had wanted to get back into convertibles for a long time.
When I was six, Pa purchased a red '66 Mustang convertible, 289 with a three-speed manual. I remember riding in that Mustang with him marveling at the top-down experience. Those 60's bucket seats hurt my mom's hips pretty bad (due to surgeries), so Pa traded it in for a '66 Fairlane convertible with bench seats. A lot better for my mom.
When I turned 16 and had my license, we still had that Fairlane. I knew that, one day, I would have convertibles of my own. Finally in September 2005, I brought the first one home and it's been top-down time whenever possible ever since!

Although Rare They Had Bench Seats Available in 65-66 Mustangs! Probably Not as Comfy As The Fairlane! Daughters 67 Fairlane Has a Bench and It Looks Fuller Padded Than The Stangs!
Read this morning that convertible are a thing of the past. The 60's nostalgia for convertible is gone and people are wanting all the electronics and electric cars. They say all but four manufactures are still making convertibles. Ford convertible sales are half what they were in the 60's. I 'm 86, retired and saved my money. I can afford my Mustang convertible and a SUV for winter driving. What the article didn't cover was with the current economy, supporting two wars, supporting millions of illegal aliens and a shirking workforce the younger generation likely has to make a choice as to the best all-around car choice for their driving needs. It's not a lack of nostalgia, it's a lack of money.
These two were not the article I had read. Hemmings makes some good points. Dirty interior, wild hair, easy to break into, etc. None the less I still enjoy driving my Mustang far more than my SUV. Come to think of it I don't think anyone has gotten excited about my SUV but a lot of comments on our convertible. I won't have to worry about resale value as the car will go to my son who also is a Mustang convertible fan.

Not at this house. My R/T is my first non-convertible in a long time. 2001 T/A and 2014 GT

It's interesting to see the Ford Mustang Convertible highlighted as the top classic car, especially with the Corvette coming in sixth. It seems the article didn’t specify whether the ranking was for the world or just America. Having owned several Mustangs, including the iconic 1965 and 1970 Mach I, it’s clear that the convertibles hold a special charm, drawing more comments and nostalgia from enthusiasts. Sorry, but I'm also not understanding the reason... She provided compliments in her post about loving Dave's pics and the last one as being her favorite... Unless I somehow overlooked something, I just don't see anything in her post as related to spam...

Okay, think I got it now... So in other words, the spammer was the one who posted what was in the hidden spoiler in addition to commenting on Dave's pics?
