lost my gt500 preorder from dishonest dealer

I preordered my GT500 over 2 months ago. Now that my car is close to production my dealer said I have to pay 15k over MSRP or I lose the car.

We already agreed in writing to MSRP and I passed up 2 other allotments at MSRP since I foolishly trusted my dealer and sales person.

Is this really how ford treats their customers?

Are there any honest dealers left?

You have it in writing that the dealer would sell it to you at msrp? I'm no lawyer here but, depending on what is written down, you may have a case against the dealership if they are trying to go back on a contract.

If you have an agreement in writing, as you stated, and there is no fine print that allows the dealer to add any additional "fees" I would do three things:

1) Call Ford directly and ask if they can assist.

2) Call a lawyer.

3) Publish the name of the dealer and get help telling all of their customer base about their dishonest behavior.

It really sucks that they would WRITE one thing and then dishonor it.

The guys over there were a lot more sympathetic then you guys. You guys are hardcore.

Wow really. . . . sigh. . . I am real. I have 2 kids, a full time job, own my own business, had a busy weekend and now have to find a new allocation.

I have better things to do then make up stories or waste peoples time. I was hoping to share my expeirence and frustration with Ford dealers in hopes that someone who cares from Ford would pay attention and maybe find a honest dealer to work with.

Feelings

I feel ya. I first had a sweet deal with a dealer on a 2012 Boss. Long story short, they backed out on the deal because supposedly someone had placed a deposit on the car over the internet earlier in the day before my deal was in place. They didn't have any other 2012's and wouldn't offer me the same deal on a 2013 Boss.
So, after some choice words/thoughts, I placed an order for a 2013 GT. The salesman and a sales manager confirmed that they ordered the car and the car should be in around the beginning of June. Beginning of June came and I couldn't get ahold of the salesman or the manager. Anyway, once I did talk to someone, their first story was that they ordered the wrong car. Then their story changed to that they forgot to order the car.
Thankfully, I was able to walk away from the deal and drove right to the next dealer and ordered again. But, now it has been 8 weeks and this salesman doesn't return my emails or calls either.
My only saving grace has been Deysha, who has given me updates. I really have had my patience tested. I first placed an order in April and I still don't have a Mustang and it is now August!

If you have valid written contract for a specific price, check with your States Attorney and determine what the local law requires the dealer to do. In other words, is he legally bound by this "contract". I had this happen to a friend several years ago. He told the dealer to pound sand and produce the vehicle or he would file criminal changes for fraud against him. He got the car. Talk to your lawyer. It will be worth the small fee, and as a business owner I am sure you already have a lawyer.

Thank you for the mention, AlsCobra. As Flagstang stated, all Ford dealers are independently owned and operated and there is not much I can do in this case.

maverik, I can document your experience with them if you'd like. Please PM me and let me know.

Hi Deysha,

I sent you a pm the other night. it was rather lengthy detailing my experience.

Let me know if you did not get it or need additional information.

Sadly, no one seems able to help yet these dealers are able to get away with this.

I've never had this bad of an experience with any other dealer I've purchased cars from.

Sadly I ran into the same issues when trying to purchase a raptor and ended up going with a Jeep Rubi unlimited with Rock Crawler package instead.
