I was looking over my car the other day while it was sitting next a 05 model. In 2010 did they use a high rise intake? Is that why the hood has a cowl on it? Since the 2010 4.6 is pretty much the same engine as the one in the 05 model. Why does it sit higher in the engine bay requiring the cowl?

 

The "powerdome" hood on the 2010-2012 was purely for looks.

 

Hey now.....That hood adds 13.75 hp.......lol
