the ticket states I was doing "75+" and under speed measuring device it says "visual/pace" It was pitch black with street lights and the time was 11:55 PM. When I seen the cop I looked down and was doing the posted speed.

I got in touch with two that night. They said I have a good chance of it being dismissed. They said cops in that area have a big quota.
I had my phone on recording myself and it got the cop saying that "it didnt last for long but it doesnt have to because the law doesnt say it has to be any length of time".

Next time there's no argument.

Good luck paying for that lawyer. Piece of advice, they don't always win. But they will make it sound like "if you hire me you will beat it, you cant do this yourself". Make sure if he loses you are NOT paying him. From what you described, his only argument will be "well my client says otherwise." Other then that he will have to listen to the officers testimony and pick stuff out of there to fight it. As far as your recording, if you are going to use it, it has to be submittible evidence in most states. Meaning bringing your phone is no good. You have to provide the court with hard evidence. Good luck.
I don't choose sides and make comments cause everyone has their story and it's not right to call someone reckless or crooked when u don't hear both sides.
As for whoever mentioned DA. I highly doubt a traffic violation will be handled by a DA, no matter what state you are in. That is why he only received a summons and not arrested, it's just a violation.
Also check the exact subdivision of the violation. A lot of states have summonses for "actions with intention to engage in a speed contest".
Any other advice needed, just pm.

Traffic court is just a racket all the way around. When someone intentionally backed into me while I was bicycling I got a good observer's look at traffic court. I got to return every month for like four months as the defense lawyer tried to get it so I would not show. Noticed how it was the same people every time, how they got along with each other, etc.
It's like any other workplace. The defense lawyers, prosecutor, judge, clerk(s), bailiff, and often the cops all know each other. They all make their living off this system. They go to lunch together, they socialize with each other.
Hiring a lawyer buys access to this club. With a member vouching for you the treatment is less harsh. Essentially the lawyer cuts a deal. What matters is that the victim who got the ticket pays. Pays a lawyer, pays a fine, pays court costs, pays something. Remember how they all make their living. Truth, justice, etc and so on have no business in court let alone traffic court. I am not saying don't hire a lawyer, after all it is buying something, but IMO don't expect Perry Mason completely fending off the government completely either. Something in between is most likely. Although sometimes the defense lawyers win and no fine or costs are paid... but the system still got money from the victim.
Now I live in a rather corrupt area of a corrupt state. The last governor went to prison the other day because someone decided to take him out for doing business as usual. Anyway mileage may vary but I doubt it gets too far off the basic program.

when I was a state witness a year ago I noticed that very fact. Everyone knows everyone and before they start doing court stuff they all ask "how are the kids" and talk like normal people at the water cooler.

You may have mentioned this, but I didn't see it. My question is: Did the Cobalt driver get a ticket, too? It seems the cop would need to have two people allegedly involved in order to create a "racing situation."
Just a thought.
