Stop enabling her! LOL. She get's enough GREAT IDEAS all by herself!
First she needs to win the lottery, finish the motorcycle project she has acquired a zillion parts for, remodel the house, and then support me in the way I would like to be accustomed to so that I can retire! LOL

Haha, thanks for the defense. He is pretty lucky (in spite of my quirks) - I like cars and motorcycles, how much better can it be?

Tami, I don't want to rain on your parade in any way. But, a project car will always be a project car. Unless you have the time, money, and ambition they sometime get the best of anyone. I've seen many projects take off with zeal, and when the owner finds how much it takes the car goes up for sale. Also an old car is always an old car, no matter how much work you do there is always a chance it will leave you stranded. I know all of this from experience. This car has been in my family since 1973 when my Dad brought it home. I got it in 1977 so this is a car that was well know to me. On the second restoration we started with a $7,500 estimate that ended up being over $18,000 because you never no what you will run into when you get started. It was one thing after another. Just some food for thought before you decide.

Since my husband is now here on this forum, this is PURELY a hypothetical question!
We have a 2004 Pontiac Vibe - my kid and her boyfriend are in pretty dire need of a car. And then someone posted to me about getting a "project" Mustang....
And that got me to thinking....(sorry honey!).....what *if* I were to replace my Vibe, which I really like since it is a hatch, with a 1978 King Cobra and let the Vibe go to the kid? It has 110k on it.
I know - only 139hp - but then my Vibe is only 130hp - so not much difference. I'm willing to trade off some gas mileage for the ultra cool Cobra on the hood, and the awesome orange pin striping on some of the colors (brown, black) and would love to have T-Tops!
Would you do that? I'm seeing pricing from $1500 for basket trailer cases to about $15,000 for nice examples. Hmmm.......
Found one in Texas for $5500, very nice original with 89k on the clock, but no T-Tops. Anything that is decent seems to get snapped up pretty quickly.

Bone stock and I never lost a race against any Camaro or Firebird I encountered. The HP seems low, but the car is ridiculously light.. it screamed! ..... fun fun car back in the day
