How do you value your car when selling?

Hello,

When you want to sell your car, how do you value it?

I've been thinking about selling my 2011 V6. ( I have 2 kids now, not great in winter, I need to cut down on vehicles, and I worry about value once the new model comes out )

When I was looking a few months ago, I had 2 offers to trade my car for 15k. Now that its sunny out, I have one offer from a dealer to trade at 18k and another from a private buyer for the same.

According to KBB and Edmunds, I'm getting a good deal out of that. It will pretty much be like I leased it for 2 years and am breaking even.

Details on the car, by the way:
2011 grabber blue v6 performance package
18500 miles
Swapped the summer only pirellis for Bridgestones with a 50k warranty
Dark tint, smoked rear lenses, swapped for leather gt seating.

I usually check msn autos, autotrader and a few local dealerships, you can also check completed auctions on fleebay.

KBB is normally pretty close. I compare their values to acv and its in the ballpark.

Definitely seems like a pretty good offer! I bet you woulda been kicking yourself in the *** had you traded it for the 15k. That 3k difference is pretty substantial! Good luck!
