High Altitude = Poor Performance
High Altitude = Poor Performance
My wife and I are in Lake Tahoe on vacation. I decided to take the Mustang because of the beautiful drive and the nice twisty roads. My car has a C&L intake, delete plates, 91 octane tune and 4:10's. I live at almost sea level and I'm now at 8500 feet.
My car is running like it's a V6. It has no power and I really got to keep the rpm's up in the 4000 range for any power going up the mountain roads. I had visions of doing some nice corner carving and I'm being passed by 69 Volkswagon's.
Has anyone else experienced this issue when changing altitudes?

The car has a Baro sensor to adjust so your cars runs right, yes less power, but its something that affects every car (boosted cars can turn up the boost). Must have been a special '69 bug lol.

mine did the same thing, I either need more power, or more gearing.
my main issue was noise from my exhaust, it's really loud unless it's in 5th, and going through the mountain I had to be in 4th most of the time

I'm in Buffalo, NY right now and will be heading home on Tuesday. I have my G-Tech with me and plan on doing some second gear pulls here (500 ft), at 3000 and 6000 feet. I live at 9000 and may do a pull there if I can find some flat road. I can graph 3 runs together for a very visual representation of the performance degradation.
